MWH-Honors World War One, “ticket to leave”

World War One
Introduction--ticket to leave
10 points
In today’s class, we had a brief overview of World War One, from causes through the end of the war. In all likelihood, you don’t know very much more than this about the war.
Before leaving class today, you need to jot down 5 broad questions or predictions you have about World War 1. (You need 5 entries--3 questions and 2 predictions is fine, for example).
First, here’s what we don’t want:
For questions, we don’t want things like “How many British soldiers were killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme?” (the idea is to ask broad, general questions, not detailed specifics).
For predictions, try to avoid specifics as well. “Germany will lose” is probably not a great choice.
In terms of questions, what we’re looking for here are things like “How did the government of European countries change as a result of World War 1?” or “Why did a regional conflict escalate to the point that it engulfed all of Europe?”
For predictions, what we’re looking for are the answers to these kinds of questions (i.e. “I think that World War One will result in the domination of Europe by the United States”).
When you’re done, hand in your list. They are being graded for completion and seriousness--no questions about Snoopy’s Sopwith Camel please--and then I will compile the lists together so we can use them to guide our study for the rest of the unit.
