Abe Fisher Unit Topic: WW1 Course: MWH-H
Topic, class/grade, level: How the war started
Objectives:
1. Students will discuss some of the ethical questions surrounding the start of the war
2. Students will be made familiar with the “Schlieffen Plan”
Understandings:
1. Although the war starts with “just” an assassination, the impetus to war is strong everywhere.
2. The Schlieffen plan is central to the way the Western Front plays out.

“Domino effect” powerpoint lecture/discussion (see attached) 40 minutes (note this lesson will either be held in a triple-mod or else run across two days).
